Garden Myths - Learn the truth about gardening

Garden Myths Book Is Released

I started collecting and writing about garden myths about 10 years ago and have been thinking about putting them into a book format for several years. Writing a book is a big job so I decided to start this blog instead. If I lost interest and only wrote about a few myths, at least they would be published in some form. More than 3 years later I am still posting myths and this blog has become extremely popular, so I finally decided to take the plunge and write a book about them. I am pleased to announce that it was released this week.

Garden Myths - Book 1, by Robert Pavlis

Garden Myths – Book 1, by Robert Pavlis

Garden Myths – Book 1 is a collection of over 120 myths covering a wide range of topics. It is written for the average gardener who wants to know the truth about their hobby. After discussing each myth and providing back ground gardening information it converts the knowledge into action items for the garden. In this respect it is more of a how to source than this blog.

Many of the myths in the book are not published on this blog and even when a myth appears in both places it has been rewritten to provide a new focus. If you enjoy my blog, I am sure you will enjoy the book.

As of today, the book is available from Amazon.com, Amazon.ca and various Amazon websites in Europe. It will also be available from Book Depository for global sales. Unfortunately, I can’t control how fast these sites post the book.

You can get a more detailed description of the book here: Garden Myths – Book 1

I live in southern Ontario, Canada, zone 5 and have been gardening a long time. Besides writing and speaking about gardening, I own and operate a 6 acre private garden called Aspen Grove Gardens which now has over 3,000 perennials, grasses, shrubs and trees. Yes--I am a plantaholic!

I hope you find Garden Myths an educational site that helps you understand your garden better.

The myths I really resent are the untruths and half truths peddled by snake oil salesmen who wish to sell you something.

It’s already available on Amazon here in France although there’s no estimated delivery date yet.
I haven’t been reading the blog for that long, but I’m definitely enjoying it so far so I’ve ordered the book. Although I currently live in Nantes, I’m originally from Toronto so I also want to support a fellow southern Ontarian!!!

A brilliant idea to gather everything into book form – I think there are still many people who enjoy reading the (should I call it?) old fashion.
